⚔️ Trial of the Sword

After completing the prerequisite, insert the Master Sword back into its pedestal in the Korok Forest to begin. The trial is divided into three stages, totaling 45 rooms. Upon entering, all equipment and materials are stripped away, and you can only use items found within the area. Saving is disabled mid-trial.

Middle16Volcano/UndergroundDarkness, lava, Guardians
Final17MixedNumerous Guardians and powerful enemies

General Tips

  1. Prioritize picking up weapons and food: Loot every chest and gather all ingredients in each room;
  2. Utilize stealth: Sneak up on sleeping or unaware enemies for one-hit kills;
  3. Bombs are your lifeline early on: In the Beginning stage without weapons, use Remote Bombs to chip away health;
  4. Save powerful weapons: Keep Royal and Guardian weapons for later Guardian rooms;
  5. Don’t waste consumed items: Food effects carry over to the next room;
  6. Guardians in the Final stage: Use Ancient Arrows to one-shot them, or parry their lasers with your shield;
  7. If you fail, you restart from the beginning of the current stage, so save at the start of each stage.

Completion Reward: The Master Sword permanently glows, its attack power increases to 60, and its durability is significantly boosted.

👑 The Champions’ Ballad

Requires freeing the four Divine Beasts to unlock. Go to the Shrine of Resurrection and place the Sheikah Slate back on its pedestal to receive the One-Hit Obliterator.

Phase 1: Four Trials on the Great Plateau

Clear monster camps at four marked points on the map to unlock a new Shrine at each location.

  • While holding the One-Hit Obliterator, you will also be killed in one hit, even by a bee sting;
  • You cannot use other melee weapons, but bows and shields are usable;
  • Food cannot restore hearts, but food effects still apply (Stamina, Stealth, Speed boosts recommended);
  • Use your bow to pick off guards from a distance first, then engage with the One-Hit Obliterator;
  • The four Shrines are: Yokawa Ita, Rohta Chigah, Ruvo Korbah, and one other. Clearing each grants a Trial Pass.

Phase 2: The Champions’ Ballads

After completing the Great Plateau trials, four new Champions’ Ballad quest lines appear on the map, corresponding to:

ChampionLocationNew ShrinesAbility Enhancement
MiphaZora’s Domain area3Mipha’s Grace +
DarukDeath Mountain area3Daruk’s Protection +
RevaliRito Village area3Revali’s Gale +
UrbosaGerudo area3Urbosa’s Fury +

Each ballad unlocks a Champion memory sequence and enhances the corresponding Champion’s ability (cooldown reduction or effect increase).

Phase 3: The Final Trial

After completing all four ballads, return to the Shrine of Resurrection to unlock the final dungeon, “The Final Trial,” and challenge the Monk Maz Koshia.

  • He will split into clones and use all of the Sheikah Slate’s rune abilities;
  • He summons metal pillars for lightning strikes, throws bombs, and creates updrafts;
  • It’s recommended to have full hearts, fully upgraded armor, and plenty of healing food before attempting;
  • Defeating him grants the Master Cycle Zero.

Master Cycle Zero

The motorcycle obtained after completing The Champions’ Ballad. It can be summoned on any flat surface and consumes various materials as fuel to run. It is the fastest land vehicle in the game; simply feed it materials when fuel is low to keep riding.
